xCMIS-[RU]

Google Web Toolkit (GWT).

xCMIS

eXo Platform today introduced xCMIS, an open source implementation of the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) specification. Fully compliant with the latest CMIS 1.0 – cd06 specification, xCMIS supports eXo's standards-based Java content repository (JCR) and works with third-party CMIS clients as well as a new eXo CMIS client based on Google Web Toolkit (GWT). The xCMIS server is being released as open source code under the LGPL at http://code.google.com/p/xcmis/.

eXo's new GWT-based CMIS client offers the flexibility of building both standalone web applications and Google gadgets. Applications or gadgets created with this framework can be loaded from a remote location or integrated into a portal such as GateIn (http://gatein.org), the portal runtime co-developed by eXo and JBoss. The eXo CMIS client comes bundled in the xCMIS download, and will be accessible as a remote gadget leveraging GWT client libraries at http://xcmis.org.

Created by OASIS to enable greater interoperability of enterprise content management (ECM) systems, CMIS provides a common interface using either AtomPub or Web Services to enable content sharing across different content management systems. Applications are no longer tied to any one specific content repository, so developers can write new applications without concern for the development platform or language dependencies on any single content system. With xCMIS, eXo joins the rank of ECM providers that have rallied behind CMIS.

"eXo was founded on open standards, which remain core to our DNA," said Benjamin Mestrallet, CEO of eXo Platform. "We started with the industry's first Java portlet container, one of the first open source Java content repositories, one of the first enterprise OpenSocial implementations and now one of the most complete CMIS implementations available. In line with this commitment to open standards, we're making xCMIS widely available as open source to ensure that any developer can have access to a first-class CMIS server with which to write their applications."

The xCMIS server is available as a community beta release today with a production-ready version planned when the final CMIS 1.0 spec is ratified. Commercial support for xCMIS will be included in the next enterprise version of the eXo Platform, version 3.0, which will be based on GateIn. For more information on xCMIS or to participate in the project, visit http://xcmis.org.

eXo will be hosting a free one-hour webinar about xCMIS on 24 February 2010. The webinar will include an overview of the CMIS specification, an introduction to the features of xCMIS and a step-by-step tutorial for creating gadgets that can make newly unlocked content even more useful. To register for the webinar, visit http://www.exoplatform.com/portal/public/website/community/__webinar-xcmis.

Deploy eXo WebOS on Unix

It is not official documentation. It is howto I do. As is.

Preamble

As Unix system I am using Ubuntu 7.10.
I have installed
  • Java 1.5 (1.5.0_11)
  • Maven 2 (2.0.7)
  • Tomcat 6 (6.0.14)
  • eXo Platform sources
To configure this all you should read two chapters 'Create the base structure' and 'Check out the source code' within article "Builing from sources" in eXo wiki.
Be sure that you configured valid maven repositories and tomcat version within settings.xml.

Main

Modify eXoProjects/tools/trunk/build/src/main/resources/linux/exoenv.sh
1. uncomment line 2 and replace option with you home dir, e.g.: "PORTABLE_DIR=/home/alexey"
2. commented lines 39-43
Than copy all content of resulted exoenv.sh to begin eXoProjects/tools/trunk/build/src/main/resources/linux/js.sh source.

Copy eXoProjects/tools/trunk/build/src/main/resources/linux/js.sh to $EXO_BASE_DIRECTORY ( known also as "java" within home dir )

Run there to deploy:
"./js.sh exobuild --product=ecm --build --deploy=tomcat"

Tomcat deployed to exo-working/exo-tomcat
Run within bin/ "eXo.sh run"
Browser url "http://localhost:8080/portal/"

XWiki buglist

1. View profile.
Clicking on my profile link
Error: "You are not allowed to view this document or perform this action."

2. Inserting code.
If the second field "Content" leave empty inserting of macros will be incorrect:

"{code:type=code} " instead of "{code:type=code} {code} ".

3. Inserting image by wysiwyg from the web.

I think it's hack to upload image from the web by that wysiwyg inserting image panel.
There are no tools for do it. I follow step by step but happens nothing :( Nothing at all!

4. How can I type char "\"?

"\" is "" - unmark XWiki's system symbol
"\\" is "" - new line
"/\" is "/"

JSON

wiki en and wiki ru

JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data-interchange format. It is easy for humans to read and write. It is easy for machines to parse and generate. It is based on a subset of the JavaScript Programming Language.

Sample JSON

{
"data": "The markup of fragment",
"portlets": [
{
"wid": "8759875984237598347",
"title": "заголовок",
"mode": "VIEW",
"state": "NORMAL",
"content": "The markup of portlet",
}
]
}

Sample JavaScript, where is req.responseText - is the JSON response.

var data_object = eval("(" + req.responseText + ")");
alert("data_object.data = " + data_object.data);
var frag = data_object.data;
var portlets = data_object.portlets;
var portletLength = portlets.length;
for (var i = 0; i < portletLength; i++) {
document.getElementById("p" + portlets[i].wid + "title").innerHTML = portlets[i].title;
document.getElementById("p" + portlets[i].wid + "content").innerHTML = portlets[i].content;
}

The portlets

Introduction
This is the article about portlets. It is the first steps to portlets and portal. I am talking about portlets, portals, aggregating portlets to portals, portlet API (JSR168), main portlet’s sides and showing simple portlet code. Prerequisites include understanding of of XML, HTML, Servlets and JavaServer Pages.

How does it work?

Portals
Portals are respected by a number of characteristics. The two most often observed by users are:
  • Aggregation
  • Personalization.
These characteristics have a major impact on the programming model, and how it differs from a non-portal web site.

Aggregation
Aggregation refers to taking content from multiple, independent, delivery channels, and providing a unified user experience. A Portal page will often contain multiple
portlets, each rendering content from a separate source. Aggregation is outside of the scope of JSR-168. Many Portal engines manage pages and aggregation differently.

Personalization
Personalization refers to allowing each user to customize their portal experience. Different portal engines will provide for differing levels of personalization. JSR-168 includes a notion of Portlet Preferences, which a developer can use to allow a user to customize how the portlet
will perform for that specific user.

Portlets
Portlet is a new type of Web Component, cousin to the Servlet, provides the interface to content.

What Is JSR-168?
The numeric designation for the JCP’s first local Portlet Specification.
Remote portlet technology is defined by the WSRP specification.
Extends Servlet Specification 2.3 with new Portlet concepts.
Defines the standard contract between the Portlet container and Portlet components.
JSR-168 does not define Portal behaviors, such as how pages are laid out, how aggregation works, how administration is performed, etc.

Why JSR-168?
Prior to JSR-168, we had many different Portlet APIs. The lack of standards fragmented the solution space, creating issues for customers and ISVs.

Portlets and servlets
Portlet-based Applications vs Servlet-based Applications Installing a Portlet Application provides capability, not content. Portlets from multiple applications can be
aggregated on the same page. More administration with Portlets and Portals than with traditional web applications.

Portlets Differ from Servlets
  • Two phase request processing
  • Persistent render parameters
  • Portlet render as markup fragments
  • Special URLs to access a Portlet
  • Portlet Modes
  • Portlet Window States
  • Portlet Preferences

Some of the Portal Servers That Support.. JSR-168
Open Source:
Commercial:

MVC and Portlets
Portlets in MVC terms:
  • Portlet class – Controller
  • Portlet’s JSP – View
Model/View/Controller Pattern
  • Model
Abstract interface
No user interaction
No presentation
  • View
Acquires Model data and renders it
Can be replaced, independent of the Model
  • Controller
Receives input events
Provides the means to effect change on the Model
Orchestrates interaction between Model and View
MVC and Portlets
The Portlet's primary role is as the Controller. Receives events from the container
  • Process actions
  • Render content

Portlets typically dispatch to the View (usually a JSP page).
As the Controller, Portlets orchestrate interaction with the Model and moving content to the View. The Model can be anything: POJO, EJB, Web Service, etc. A Portal is intended to provide an aggregated UI to models, not to necessarily contain those models.

portlet ru

eXoPlatform en

About eXoPlatform (english version)
Hello!

Let me introduce the first step article about eXo-Platfrom.
This article is some words about it at all.

First of all the main links:

1. Company portal
2. Technical documentation
3. eXo on objectweb

List:

The Product Line v2 has five impotant products (for my point of view) :
exo-platform
exo-portlet-container ( services jsr168 и wsrp )
exo-portal ( portlets and services )
exo-jcr ( repository and services)
exo-ecm ( portlets and administrate JCR )

The process of deploy (deploy on tomcat or other AS (application server)) has two points: portal or ecm

The dependence of projects (in order below depend on the above):

exo-platform
exo-test
exo-portlet-container</module>
exo-sso
exo-portal
exo-jcr
exo-ecm
exo-groupware
exo-company/web/company-v2
exo-bi
exo-esb
site

In each archive of relise is located the description of the done points and fixed bugs, and description as how to deploy it, if this one ear, on different AS.

The best way for know new about it - is to find out the news for latest eXo releases on objectweb: eXo Platform news

There are ECM, JCR, PC and more.
For example, this one the latest release of eXo ECM 1.1

Try to download and run it for play around.

Об eXoPlatform

1. Cайт компании
2. Документация
3. eXoPlatform - на objectweb

Есть Product Line v2 в нём :
exo-portlet-container ( сервис jsr168 и wsrp )
eXo Portal ( отображает портлеты )

exo-platform
exo-test
exo-portlet-container</module>
exo-sso
exo-portal
exo-jcr
exo-ecm
exo-groupware
exo-company/web/company-v2
exo-bi
exo-esb
site
